Photowalk in Kawasaki Daishi

Posted on 09 October 2009 by Alfie Goodrich

Last Sunday we explored the superb Daishi Temple, streets and the Tama riverfront in Eastern Kawasaki.

Kawasaki has some great spots to visit and just a couple of stops on the Keikyu Daishi line from Kawasaki station is the wonderful temple complex of Daishi [photo below]. This and the Daishi Koken Park formed the large part of our photwalk last Sunday

See a gallery of shots at the link below: from Arlon Roese, Justin Choulochas and Aditya Ponkshe – three of our photography students who came on Sunday’s walk.

There is a maplink below of some of the route we took, although we didn’t have tome for the section around Minatocho: we’ll be doing this walk again and concentraing on that area next time.

Here’s a shot of main temple at Kawasaki Daishi, which I took the week before our walk. It’s a beautiful spot and we all spent a fair while around the extensive temple grounds. We were lucky enough last Sunday to be there when the kid’s Sunday School was on. Lots of kids were out drawing and sketching with the monks. Lovely to see.

Here’s one or two more that I took on Sunday’s walk:
