New video blog and some shots from a trip Hunter and Irwin took down to Golden Gai to shoot a feature.
Welcome to the new installation of the video blog from Japanorama – this time we plumb one of the most notorious drinking holes in Tokyo – Golden Gai. Golden Gai is a collection of hole-in-the-wall bars and pubs in a fashionably run-down area of Shinjuku. Check out the video and there are some more photos and notes on my blog.

Irwin and Hunter, just a quick note to let you know that I am loving what you guys are doing. It’s very interesting how well you guys seem to be able to capture, both with the video shooting and with the photos, the atmosphere around you.
I particularly loved the drumset-in-a-van guy from last episode. The images were fantastic and the set absolutely surreal.
I know I recognize the music you guys are using, but can’t come up with a name. Can you remind me who’s the band?

Hi Francesco, thanks for the positive comments! Hunter is the one choosing the music for the videos…i’m not sure what he’s using but I’m sure he’ll get back to you on that
