I spent a few hours cruising the backstreets of Ginza today, doing an architectural photo lesson with +Charles Lacz. Lots of fun. Always some great stuff to discover on and off-piste on the Ginza and by that I mean on the main-drag and in the backstreets and back-alleys.
this was a shot of a large billboard which, as is usual in Tokyo, it was difficult to get a long-distance view of because the streets are so narrow, high and so packed with stuff.
This view I got by ducking into a doorway and behind a spiral staircase on the building opposite. It proved to be a nice spot to shoot from: using the foreground details to frame the billboard.
