Dreaming of being behind the wheel?

This little fella, standing inside the grandstand with his parents, reminded me of myself when I was his age: stood at Silverstone circuit in the UK, watching the RAC Tourist Trophy Race with my mum and dad… dreaming of being behind the wheel of one of the cars.

This moment was all over so quickly and the reflections were really hard to manage; getting the kid's eyes and his face at least discernible through the glass.

Wish I'd had something a little wider on my camera when this happened, to get more of the reflections of the outside – maybe even the track. But this was on the 2nd floor of the grandstand, maybe 10m above the circuit. Anyway, it's a moment… and these moments are so fleeting that capturing them with 50 or 60% of the desired impact is often good enough to get the message across.

It's hard being a perfectionist…. :-)
