It's all about the light

I love re-visiting the same location over and over again. It's how I spot the nuances of a place. The place gets under my skin and I don't worry about having to wait for things to happen. Plus, visiting the same place over and over means I can predict or at least imagine with a decent level of accuracy what's going to happen next. I've been going to this building for 13 years now, so it's under my skin for sure… I can feel it breathe at every time of the day.

With this little patch of light seven storeys below me it was like that: stand, watch and wait for someone to walk through or near it, so I could get that hard, crisp shadow…

  5. Nice! I love this kind of fishing. First, find the good light, and then wait for a subject. Or bring a subject with you.

  7. Awesome, Alfie!!

  8. I know the feeling. I live in rural Ireland, and just a couple of minutes from my house is an old forge, where a blacksmith would make iron shoes for horses' hooves and other things for farms. The vegetation is creeping up around it, and nature is slowly reclaiming it, so it's different every week.
