Fascinating video here at The George Eastman House channel on YouTube, charting a little of the process of making WoodburyTypes. I know my way around a fair few of the old processes, having made cyanotypes, calliotypes and various other things at art college, back in the day. But this process was completely new to me and is something of a revelation.
It’s not a photograph. It’s an image cast with a process that uses a mixture of lead, gelatin, pigment and paper.
