The cosmos flowers keep calling me......

What is that effect?

It's bokeh Stefan. The lens is so wide open that the shapes of objects in the background, which are strongly lit, come through like this.

I was walking around Omotesando and Harajuku to kill some time before meeting a friend the other night and found this patch of cosmos flowers. Planted out in the street, behind them were the lights of a shop and a vending machine was providing some light from my side. Just beautiful. Got mesmerised for a good fifteen minutes by these flowers.
