Another side of Shibuya, Tokyo

I had a meeting in Shibuya tonight and afterwards, for a change, walked to Ebisu station instead of taking the train home from Shibuya. Found this canal – well, more of a drain really – and some interesting alternative views; of the backside of Shibuya.

One exposure, camera rested on the bridge.

It was a great spot. About four little bridges with views of the backs of the shops and flats. Didnt have the tripod so was doing my best with jamming the camera into the railings on the bridge.

Dark and somehow mysterious. Great capture of the back side of Shibuya.

I love taking works around the backstreets of Tokyo. Never know what you'll come across...little canal drains for instance. Great shot. The backside of Tokyo is so grungely photogenic.

I love the atmosphere in this shot and the next one reminds me of Blade Runner or Deus ex.

When I lived in Tokyo, I loved walking across this canal between Shibuya and Ebisu, especially at night. It was always one of those views that made me love the city. Thanks for the capture...and the memories.

Hi, I'm an admin for a group called PRIZE WINNING PHOTOS OF JAPAN, and we'd love to have this added to the group! Lived in Japan in early 60s and always found these canals most interesting subjects for sketches and photos. You have some classic contemporary photography that I admire very much. Robert
